Minimum Qualifications:
- A valid NYS Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA) and/or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) or School Building Leader (SBL).
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching and administrative experience at the secondary level.
- Proven track record of fostering a positive school culture, promoting academic achievement, and enhancing student engagement and success.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, faculty, and community members.
Position Requirements:
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to advance the long-term mission and goals of Ward Melville High School and the Three Village Central School District.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes respect, equity, and diversity.
- Lead and support faculty and staff in implementing innovative instructional practices that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with students, parents, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, facilities, and technology, to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Cultivate partnerships with parents, community organizations, businesses, and higher education institutions to enhance educational opportunities for students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional leadership and support to promote student achievement and success
- Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment conducive to academic excellence and personal growth.
- Lead and participate in professional learning communities to analyze student data, assess instructional effectiveness, and implement evidence-based practices.
- Support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students through the implementation of comprehensive student support services.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities to enhance the knowledge and skills of faculty and staff.
- Serve as an advocate for students, parents, faculty, and staff to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are addressed.
- Represent Ward Melville High School at district, regional, and state-level meetings, conferences, and events.
