Minimum Qualifications:

  • A valid NYS Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA) and/or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) or School Building Leader (SBL).
  • Minimum of five years of successful teaching and administrative experience at the secondary level.
  • Proven track record of fostering a positive school culture, promoting academic achievement, and enhancing student engagement and success.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, faculty, and community members.

Position Requirements:

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to advance the long-term mission and goals of Ward Melville High School and the Three Village Central School District.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes respect, equity, and diversity.
  • Lead and support faculty and staff in implementing innovative instructional practices that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with students, parents, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, facilities, and technology, to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Cultivate partnerships with parents, community organizations, businesses, and higher education institutions to enhance educational opportunities for students.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional leadership and support to promote student achievement and success
  • Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment conducive to academic excellence and personal growth.
  • Lead and participate in professional learning communities to analyze student data, assess instructional effectiveness, and implement evidence-based practices.
  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students through the implementation of comprehensive student support services.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities to enhance the knowledge and skills of faculty and staff.
  • Serve as an advocate for students, parents, faculty, and staff to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are addressed.
  • Represent Ward Melville High School at district, regional, and state-level meetings, conferences, and events.
