ANTICIPATED VACANCY

2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

Reading Teacher One-Year Leave Replacement Anticipated Start Date: September 2026 Location: TBD Compensation: Salary in accordance with Teachers’ contract   Applicants must hold valid New York State Reading K–12 Certification

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement effective reading instruction aligned with state standards and best practices.
• Assess students’ reading abilities using formal and informal assessments to inform instruction.
• Develop and deliver differentiated reading interventions for students at various skill levels.
• Provide direct instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate literacy strategies across subjects.
• Utilize data-driven decision-making to track student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Engage families in literacy initiatives and provide resources to support reading at home.
• Stay current with research-based literacy instruction and professional development.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Wilson certification preferred.
