PROBATIONARY POSITION
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Applications are being accepted for the following anticipated vacancy: Assistant Principal at Ward Melville High School.
Prerequisites for the position are:
- New York State certification SDA/SBL/SDL
- Demonstrated leadership experience as a secondary administrator
- Demonstrated expertise in the use of data to structure master schedule to meet student program needs
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide collaborative instructional leadership for rigorous and challenging academic programs for all students
- Interview, coordinate, and assign observers, student teachers, and interns at the high school
- Monitor and coordinate co-curricular program, activities, and field trips
- Coordinate local and state data reporting
- Assist in supervision of non-instructional and instructional personnel
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student behavior, academic progress and school events
- Use of student management software
- Student discipline and behavior management
- School operations and safety
Start date: July 1, 2025
Salary is in accordance with TVSAA contract.
